Temporary Suspension of Fast Boat Services from Padangbai to Gili/Lombok Due to Bad Weather – Effective June 24, 2025

Padangbai, Bali – Starting today, Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 12:00 PM WITA, all fast boat services from Padangbai to the Gili Islands and Lombok are officially suspended temporarily. This directive is issued through an official circular letter (Surat Edaran) by the Padangbai Port Authority (KSOP Kelas IV Padangbai) under the Ministry of Transportation of Indonesia, with reference number SE-KSOP.Pbi/01/2025, dated June 23, 2025.

What Caused the Suspension?

According to the latest maritime weather forecast from BMKG Region III (Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency), northern parts of the Lombok Strait are expected to experience rough sea conditions, including strong winds and high waves. The forecast is in effect from June 24, 2025 at 08:00 AM WITA to June 26, 2025 at 08:00 AM WITA.

To ensure maritime safety and security, the port authority has ordered all fast boat operators and captains on the Padangbai – Pemenang (Lombok) route to suspend departures until further notice and until weather conditions improve.

Who Is Affected?

This temporary suspension applies to fast boat routes from Padangbai (Bali) to:

  • Gili Trawangan

  • Gili Meno

  • Gili Air

  • Bangsal Harbor (Lombok)

Major fast boat companies including Eka Jaya, Semaya One, and other operators have also followed the directive and halted their operations during this period.

What Should Travelers Do?

If you have booked a fast boat ticket for June 24–25, 2025, here’s what you can do:

  • Contact your boat operator or travel agent to confirm the status of your ticket and arrange a reschedule.

  • Follow weather updates from BMKG or check social media pages of the port and boat companies for real-time information.
